Machine Gun Preacher Sam Childers is back to inspire Texans
Houston, Texas (March 21, 2017) – Pastor/Preacher Sam Childers was the subject of a Hollywood movie “Machine Gun Preacher” starring motion picture star Gerard Butler.
The name Machine Gun Preacher was given to Sam by the South Sudan Villagers he protected against the Lord’s Resistance Army, a brutal regime of guerrillas who showed no mercy to their child victims and their parents, and turned some into their sex slaves.
“I really enjoyed my Texas tour last year in Houston and the San Antonio region,” says Pastor Childers “This year we have added 7 more sites to include the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.”

Sam sweeps through Freedom Church in Freeport 3/23, Tomball at Defenders Martial Arts Academy and CT Houston Church 3/24, and then heads to San Antonio and Dallas/Fort Worth. The presentations are free to the public, but a donation will be taken for his ministry the Angels of East Africa, benefiting orphans in the Southern Sudan.
“My mission is to help those when others won’t and I know that this appeals to people who are doing just that,” says Sam “I just want to share my experiences with those who need encouragement here in America and what their support means to the kids who have no one who will help them.”
Sam is the first American to receive The Mother Teresa Memorial International Award for Social Justice, joining the ranks of Malala Yousafzai and the Dalai Lama in receiving a major award from an Indian charity that eulogizes Mother Teresa.
The evening will feature speakers, musical performances, the Machine Gun Preacher trailer and motorcycles, and a message from Sam about his ministries in Africa (Angels of East Africa and the Children’s Village Orphanage), and encouragement to men and women who are called to do tough things to ensure a better life for those they love.
